Denver apartment rents rising 3 times the national average


Denver rents have gone up nearly 7 percent in the past year, which is three times the national average increase of 2.3 percent.

That’s according to research done by Apartmentlist.com, which indicated that the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city of Denver last month was $1,090, with two-bedrooms averaging $1,550 monthly in the city. The two-bedroom rent average is 41 percent above the national average, according to the company.

Apartmentlist.com reported that the most expensive apartments in Denver area were in Cherry Creek, where the median price for a two-bedroom rental was $3,250. The cheapest rents were in Virginia Village near I-25 and Colorado Boulevard, where the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment was $1,150.
